Nanomaterials for energy
Dr. Andrés Ramírez Ramírez holds a PhD in chemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where in 2017 he defended a thesis on solar-powered rechargeable batteries based on nanostructured polymers, supervised by María Angélica del Valle. His research centers on conducting polymer nanowires for solar energy storage and on the electrosynthesis of these materials. Between 2018 and 2019 he led projects on nanostructured conducting polymers at Universidad Mayor under ANID/PFCHA funding programs. In 2025 he co-authored a study on valorizing residual brewery biomass for counter-electrodes in dye-sensitized solar cells.
