Dr. Felipe Mondaca

Dr. Felipe Mondaca (Felipe Javier Mondaca Espinoza) is a physicist and nanotechnology specialist. He earned a bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Astronomy and a master's in Science with a focus on Physics at the Universidad Católica del Norte, and a doctorate in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at CINVESTAV-IPN in 2021. He is currently an assistant professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad San Sebastián, Patagonia campus. His research uses density functional theory to simulate and model nanocatalysts for hydrogen production and wastewater remediation, including tin oxide nanoparticles, transparent conducting oxides and metal-doped materials. He previously worked as a technical specialist in Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy at the Universidad Católica del Norte.
