Dr. Jorge Roberto Oliva Uc

Dr. Jorge Roberto Oliva Uc is a researcher in advanced materials for energy storage and a Level II member of Mexico's National System of Researchers. His main line of work is the development of supercapacitors and batteries using flexible, transparent and environmentally friendly materials, including graphene, oxides, polymers and electrolytes derived from tequila-industry waste. He complements this with research on flexible electronics, sensors, LEDs and photocatalytic materials for water remediation. Between 2018 and 2021 he led an international UC-MEXUS project with Prof. Qibing Pei (UCLA). In 2022 he received the Potosino Award for Scientific and Technological Research and UNAM's Marcos Moshinsky Award.
